Patient Flow Coordinator - RN Level 2 - 1.0 FTE - Ashford Hospital
Ashford Hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join their team as a Patient Flow Coordinator either in a full-time capacity or a shared role up to full-time hours. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.
The Patient Flow Coordinator will be integral in assisting Ashford Hospital to achieve maximum patient flow throughout the hospital and assisting the Hospital Coordinator to maximise admissions and continue to provide timely transfers and admission and discharge throughout the hospital.
In this role you will report to the Hospital Coordinator on shift and work with the nurse management team to maximise the admission, discharge and transfer of patients throughout the hospital. This is a pivotal role in supporting patient flow and ensuring seamless care transitions across the hospital. Your expertise and clinical acumen will be invaluable in facilitating effective communication, supporting discharge planning, and optimising resource utilisation.
About the role:
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to streamline patient flow and enhance care coordination
Utilising your clinical expertise to support safe and efficient patient discharges
Identifying and addressing potential barriers to timely patient transfers
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation
Clear understanding of the clinical capabilities of the hospital / facility when determining suitability of unplanned patient admissions
Understanding of patient admission and discharge processes to facilitate efficient bed flow within the hospital

About you:
Current registration as a Registered General Nurse with AHPRA
Minimum 5 years acute RN experience
Demonstrated leadership skills
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including direct communication with VMOs
Self-motivated and ability to work autonomously
Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet timelines
Problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to manage multi tasks and coordinate resources appropriately
Excellent customer service skills understanding and supporting the strategic direction of the hospital

If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant nursing experience against the current nursing Enterprise Agreement the “Adelaide Community Healthcare Alliance (ACHA) & Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF) South Australian Branch – Nurses’ & Midwives – Enterprise Agreement - 2024 (‘Agreement’ or ‘Enterprise Agreement’)” (salaries range between $38.79 -$53.04 per hour).
