OVERNIGHT SLEEP TECHNICIAN

CASUAL 1-2 NIGHTS/WEEK

The Memorial Hospital is a private not-for-profit 98 bed hospital which is part of the Adelaide Community Healthcare Alliance Incorporated (ACHA) group of hospitals.  We offer a range of specialties, including ENT Surgery, General Medicine, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Paediatric Surgery and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.  The hospital has 8 operating theatres, 8 adult bay and 15 paediatric bay day stay units.

The Paediatric Sleep Service has 2 sleep rooms and is currently the only private paediatric sleep service in SA. We are committed to providing a high level of patient centred care and delivering an exceptional standard of polysomnographic (PSG) and respiratory testing to assist in the detection and treatment of sleep and respiratory disorders.  The Sleep Service is NATA (National Accreditation Testing Association) accredited since 2019.

 We currently have a position available for an Overnight Sleep Technician.  Key Responsibilities

·       Maintaining high standards of practice in PSG

·       All aspects of the paediatric patient’s sleep study set-up and overnight management

·       Maintaining accurate position of electrodes and sensors to ensure adequate sleep and respiratory data are recorded

·       Maintaining NATA accredited records

 Selection Criteria 

·       Tertiary level degree in a related health science field

·       A high level of attention to detail and personal time management

·       Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills

·       Appropriate computer, technical and scientific skills

·       Self-directed and autonomous worker 

Desirable Criteria 

·       Experience or qualification in Sleep Medicine/Sleep Laboratory

·       Shift work experience
