Flinders Private Hospital is seeking experienced theatre orderly staff to join the peri-operative team. This position works in collaboration with nursing staff to provide safe and quality patient care by assisting with patient transport as well as cleaning and turning over operating theatres and preparing the operating theatres for next case.
The Flinders Private operating suite is comprised of 9 theatres and operates electively over a 6-day week.
About the role:
Transporting patients to/from and within the perioperative department
Assisting within the operating theatre as delegated by the nursing team
Providing assistance with patient transport
Ensuring patient trolleys/beds are available in recovery a timely manner
Couriering items as delegated by nursing team
Undertaking cleaning of the operating theatre between cases as per facility protocols
Restocking and unpacking as delegated
Waste removal from peri-operative suite
Working alongside the nursing staff of the perioperative department, it is important to adhere to ACHA’s patient/client and staff confidentiality with compliance to legislation and ACHA privacy policy.

About you:
Preferable – minimum 1 year PSA experience
Lead by example, demonstrating the values of ACHA and Flinders Private
Good time management skills and attention to detail
Good understanding of manual handling techniques and patient safety
Ability to liaise with key stakeholders and customers
Proven communication and interpersonal skills
Understanding of risk management and WHS principles
