  • Providing after hours leadership and management of the nursing team and hospital
 
 
 
The After Hours Hospital Coordinator is a pivotal member of the health care team providing after hours leadership and management of the nursing team and hospital.
 
 
 
 
As the After Hours Hospital Coordinator your responsibilities will include:
  • Supervise safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards
  • Support and liaise with the respective Nurse Unit Manager(s) of wards and departments
  • Ensure all areas are staffed appropriately and cost efficient
  • Coordinate patient admissions
  • Oversee the safety of all patients and hospital staff
 
 
 
 
The Hunter Valley Private Hospital (HVPH) was established in 1965 and is the oldest working private hospital in the Hunter Valley. Hunter Valley Private Hospital is a small but very successful facility comprising 83 surgical/rehab/medical beds, 4 operating theatres and a procedure room. The hospital is located on the outskirts of Newcastle and is only 20 minutes from the Newcastle CBD and beaches while also being only 30 minutes from the Hunter vineyards.
 
 
 
 
 
Essential Criteria:
  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA Registration
  • Recent management experience at ANUM level or higher
  • Tertiary Qualification in a health related discipline or management (desired)
  • Knowledge of relevant Awards and Enterprise Agreements (desired)
  • Advanced and Paediatric Advanced Life Support qualifications (desired)
  • Demonstrated experience with the coordination and allocation of staff
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS Office
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • People leadership skills including mentorship and coaching of team members
  • Ability to manage special projects and selected portfolios
