Are you an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse with sound experience in Recovery? We need you to assist our team in this leadership role.


Be the key positive change and resource within our perioperative environment for the recovery department, working with state of the art equipment.


Position Responsibilities –


The position is responsible for providing clinical leadership in the recovery department to compliment the strategic direction, operational processes and quality management of all patients.


As the Associate Nurse Unit Manager you will provide clinical operational direction for the recovery unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based.


You will be accountable and responsible for the effective daily management of human, financial and material resources.


Situated on the beautiful Gold Coast and located in the Health and Knowledge Precinct at Southport is Gold Coast Private Hospital. This facility opened in March 2016 and comprises 284 beds and 13 operating theatres. We support the Gold Coast community with a broad range of acute medical and surgical specialties and our credo is our family caring for your family - for life. Stage 2 development of our facility has commenced and we now have a rare opportunity for you to join us on this exciting journey.


Essential Criteria:

  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum 3 years experience
  • Current ALS and PALS Certificate
  • Quality Improvement projects
  • Resource management - equipment, staffing, succession planning
  • Sound clinical knowledge
  • Product/Equipment trial and evaluation
  • Focus on the development of our business unit working with the Doctors
  • Experience in the Acute setting/relevant to position advanced skills
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills
  • Positive role modelling behaviours
  • Excellent customer service focus, time management and prioritisation
  • Ability to manage a dynamic and changing environment
  • High degree of computer literacy


Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in paediatric recovery
  • Knowledge of pain management protocols.
  • Flexibility to work across a 7 day roster including participation in the call roster
  • Willingness to mentor new staff including nursing students
  • Ability to manage daily staffing levels effectively.
