With the expansion of our surgical services we are now opening a dedicated plastic and general surgery department. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the creation and ongoing establishment of this unit.
 
Are you an enthusiastic and experienced Registered Nurse ready to assume the role of Associate Nurse Unit Manager in our Plastic and General Surgery unit? 
 
 
Position Responsibilities:
  • The position is responsible for providing clinical leadership to the ward/unit to compliment the strategic direction, operational processes and quality management of all patients.  
  • You will provide clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based. 
  • With the assistance and direction of the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be accountable and responsible for the effective daily management of human, financial and material resources. 
 
Located in Wantirna, Knox Private Hospital is a fully accredited tertiary facility with 359 beds, providing Emergency Services, Extensive Surgical Specialities, 20 bed ICU/CCU, Medical and a full range of Cardiac Services including a twenty four hour Cardiac Catheter Laboratory.  The hospital has 10 theatres plus a day theatre, which offer a broad range of specialities including Cardiac, Neuro, Plastics, Orthopaedics, Urology, Laparoscopic, Colorectal, Vascular and General Surgery.
 
 
Selection Criteria: 
  • Current Registration with AHPRA  
  • Working with Children check (if relevant) 
  • Experience in the Acute setting/particularly plastics and general surgery
  • Degree in relevant specialty area 
  • Grade 2, Year 2 or above 
  • Sound clinical knowledge 
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards 
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Positive role modelling behaviours 
  • Excellent customer service focus, time management and prioritisation 
  • Ability to manage a dynamic and changing environment 
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various data bases
