A part time role is available to combine your passion for patient centred care and staff development while progressing your career.

 

 

As the After Hours Clinical Nurse Educator you play a critical role in: 

  • developing and delivering nursing education programs

  • coordinating and providing hands on educational support and clinical teaching/facilitation and orientation to staff, graduate nurses & students

  • assessing and demonstrating clinical procedures, orientate new employees and developing/updating educational resources

  • providing expert clinical education and leadership, expert advice, guidance and support to all staff

  • promoting a high standard of evidence based nursing care to all patients, through dissemination of current best practice knowledge

  • assisting with developing, delivering and maintaining the graduate nurse program include delivering education sessions and resources

  • coordinating and assisting with delivery of mandatory training including basic life support and manual handling training

Opening 30 October 2018, Northern Beaches Hospital will be a fully licensed private hospital, providing care to public and private patients from an outstanding facility with a large range of quality services provided by exceptional nurses, doctors and staff.

 

The Education Centre comprises  2 simulation rooms & associated control room, various meeting rooms (including a large conference area) for education & training of staff, students & doctors. These facilities may also be used for meetings of community groups with interests aligned with hospital services and Library Services. There are also rooms for education purposes throughout the hospital. Technology in the theatres enables surgical procedures to be shown in the Education Centre facilities as a live feed.

Staff in the Centre & other Educators establish & oversee:

  • hospital orientation

  • ongoing staff training & education

  • mandatory training

  • supervised training

  • conferences

  • specialist clinical/service meetings

  

As the after-hours educator, you will bring to our high-performing team: 

  • Current registration as a Nurse with AHPRA

  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent

  • Certificate IV workplace training and Assessment (TAFE) (or working towards)

  • Relevant clinical or education post graduate qualifications in area of clinical practice (or equivalent) Post Graduate - Certificate or higher

  • Minimum of 4 years in area of clinical practice

  • Advanced clinical competence and proven experience in clinical supervision

  • Effective presentation skills

  • Advanced life support certification is desireable

  • Able to influence nursing and hospital practice to achieve excellent clinical outcomes

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • High degree of computer literacy

  • Prior experience in the private healthcare system will be well regarded

  • Passion for delivering quality patient-centred care

  • Ability to work after hours and weekends
