An exciting opportunity exists in our 11 theatre operating suite for an experienced Perioperative Educator with a desire to further their management and education career.
Prince of Wales Private Hospital theatres is currently seeking an experienced, dynamic, highly motivated, energetic and self-directed Registered Nurse with proven experience in education within the perioperative field. This position will be full time with flexible hours.
The role of the Perioperative Educator is to be an effective leader demonstrating advanced levels of clinical knowledge and skills to ensure the highest standards of service provision and patient care. 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordination of unit based in-service programs
  • Participation on mandatory training program
  • Management of the department orientation program for new employees
  • Coordination/ facilitation of competency programs for new staff and coordination of New Graduate Program
  • Reviewing of policies and procedures
  • Participation in working parties or committees (as required)
  • Demonstration of a commitment to Continuous Quality Improvement through National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards (NSQHS) Workplace Health and Safety, achievement of hospital/facility accreditation

  • Registered Nurse, AHPRA
  • Certificate in perioperative nursing or at least 4 years’ experience perioperative education
  • Knowledge and experience with New Graduate and Post Graduate Programs
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Aptitude in problem solving and decision making
  • Demonstrate commitment to personal professional development
  • A commitment to the principles of continuous quality improvement
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Act as a role model and resource for other clinicians
  • Broad clinical experience in the perioperative field
  • Cert IV Training and Assessment
  • Tertiary education qualifications or working towards same
