  • Senior Psychologist
  • 3 days/week within the Allied Health team
  • Postgraduate degree in Psychology, Social Work or Occupational Therapy and full registration with AHPRA or eligible for membership with the AASW
 
An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated Senior Psychologist to take on a leadership position for 3 days/week within the Allied Health team at The Victoria Clinic.
 
This role would involve both working within and coordinating inpatient and outpatient therapy programs. In particular, it would require the individual to oversee the CBT-related programs and the mindfulness-based programs within our Day Program, as well as contributing to the wellbeing of Allied Health staff via supervision and leadership support.
 
 
 
Essential Criteria:
  • Postgraduate degree in Psychology, Social Work or Occupational Therapy and full registration with AHPRA or eligible for membership with the AASW
  • At least 5 years post-qualification experience
  • Ability to supervise students and other staff
  • A good working knowledge and experience with mindfulness and CBT therapies
  • Experience working with clients with a range of mental health issues
  • Experience working with clients in both groups and individually, preferably in both an inpatient and outpatient setting
  • Current police check
 
 
 
The Victoria Clinic is 52 bed private psychiatric facility located on Malvern Road in Prahran and specialises in the provision of high quality inpatient and outpatient mental health services. The clinic offers a friendly and supportive staff environment with a strong commitment to the provision of excellence in the delivery of care to our customers.
 
 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide group therapy and individual sessions to psychiatric clients
  • Provide psychological assessment services to people with a wide range of psychiatric conditions in an outpatient setting, in order to determine their suitability for particular group programs
  • Work within and provide clinical leadership and supervision to a multi-disciplinary team
  • Liaise with referrers, relatives, and other services as required
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of policies and programs as appropriate

  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Sound organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and lateral problem solving skills
