Registered Nurse - Anaesthetic & Recovery

  • Base salary range $67,000 to $88,600 per annum
 
Are you a Registered Nurse with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and a passion for delivering high quality patient care? Mount Hospital is looking to employ Registered Nurses for our Anaesthetic & Recovery Unit. Suitable applicants with the right clinical background are encouraged to apply.

 The Operating Theatre department consists of 11 theatres covering a range of specialities including cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, ENT, general and plastic reconstructive surgery.
 
 
As a Registered Nurse your responsibilities will include:
  • Deliver evidence based nursing care
  • Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
  • Ensure patient and staff safety
  • Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to deliver patient care
  • Deliver education and support to individuals/patients for the management
  
Essential Criteria:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ anaesthetic nursing;
  • Anaesthetic nursing experience with major surgical specialties: example: cardiothoracics, neurosurgery, CCL, major orthopaedics, paediatrics, bariatrics and major general;
  • Current registration with AHPRA;
  • Working with Children check;
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
  • Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills;
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills;
  • Works well independently and within a team; and
  • Basic computer skills

 

Desirable Criteria:
  • Graduate Certificate in Anaesthetics or equivalent;
  • Recent PACU nursing experience;
  • Experience within an endoscopy unit.
