Are you an enthusiastic Speech Pathologist looking to join a dynamic Allied Health team? The successful applicant will have the opportunity to experience a varied clinical caseload across the acute and sub-acute setting.


As a Speech Pathologist your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Provide evidence-based care to patients, including the provision of high quality assessment and treatment services to acute and/or sub-acute caseloads
  • Work collaboratively with patients, carers and members of the multi-disciplinary team to achieve shared goals
  • Actively participate in quality improvement and risk reduction activities
  • Demonstrate professional, ethical and respectful behaviour and teamwork at all times in accordance with our core values and the Heacode of conduct

We are currently seeking enthusiastic Grade 1 and 2 Speech Pathologists to join our Allied Health team on a casual basis. This role will involve a varied clinical caseload, providing Speech Pathology services at the Knox Private, Ringwood Private and Bellbird Private Hospitals. The role may also require some work at the Victorian Rehabilitation Centre. The successful candidate will become part of a dynamic and interdisciplinary Allied Health department, which seeks to provide our patients with high quality evidence based, consumer-centred care.
 
Knox Private Hospital is the largest private hospital in the eastern and south eastern corridor of Melbourne. We operate 359 patient beds, 11 theatres, a 24 hour Emergency Department, an on-site medical team, a 10 bed Intensive Care Unit, a 10 bed Coronary Care Unit and a Day Procedure Unit. We offer a broad range of acute services, with over 25 speciality areas and are leaders in cardiac and general surgery, obstetrics, neurosurgery, neurology, orthopaedics, urology, plastics and vascular surgery.

Selection Criteria:

 

  • A degree in Speech Pathology
  • Previous acute hospital experience
  • Eligibility for membership to Speech Pathology Australia
  • Video fluoroscopy and tracheostomy management experience
  • Exceptional time management and communication skills
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to professional development
