As a Chef your responsibilities will include:

•    Help create innovative, modern cuisine for our amazing patients 
•    In conjunction with the Executive Chef, train kitchen staff on all menus
•    'Cook Fresh' meals and food preparation for patients inclusive of allergens & intolerances, as per national menu guide for breakfast, lunch & dinner service

•    Assist the Executive Chef to manage food costs, stock control and management of staff
•    Rotational rostering, hourly pay & penalty rates on weekend
•    Maintain hygiene, OH&S, & overall kitchen cleanliness at all times, ensuring regular daily temperatures of food & equipment as per food safety standards thus ensuring food safety documentation is completed daily.
•    Strong understanding of NSW Health, food safety requirements & food auditing
•    Maintain effective communication with management and facility staff 
•    Lead, supervise, coach and develop team members, including cooks, kitchenhands and service staff to deliver exceptional service

You will bring to the team:

  • Well-presented with appropriate Chef qualifications 
  • Proven understanding of the dietary and texture modification food preparation requirements within a hospital or aged care environment
  • Team player, full commitment & motivation
  • Strong time management & organisational skills
  • Full work rights.  We are unable to offer sponsorship visas at this time.

 Catering environment
•    Experience in large volume hot kitchen cookery
•    Good working knowledge and understanding of HACCP regulations
•    Safe Food Handling Certificate
•    Available for rotating shifts from 5am through to11am start times over a 7-day roster including weekend work
•    2 years relevant experience
•    Experience in hospital, aged care or hotel food service environment desirable
