Administration Officer

About the role

Gold Coast Private Hospital are seeking experienced Medical Administrators with outstanding customer service skills to join our team on a casual basis.  In this role you will love meeting and greeting people and communicating in person and over the phone.  You should thrive working in a busy environment.

About the roles:

This opportunity will see you join our team as an all-rounder to assist where required, your duties will vary day to day and may include:

·       Manage a busy reception desk

·       Answer and redirect calls

·       Prepare admission paperwork

·       Maintain accurate and effective record management systems including preparation of medical records

·       Perform Health Fund Checks as required

·       Manage the collection of excesses/co-payments

·       Coordinate with staff from other departments

·       Complete other clerical tasks such as data entry

Established in 2016 Gold Coast Private Hospital is a 336 bed, 22 operating theatre facility located in Southport, the heart of the Gold Coast Precinct. Specialities include - 24/7 Emergency Care Centre, Medical, Orthopaedic, Bariatric, Neurosurgical, Plastics, ENT & General Surgical, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care and Oncology. Gold Coast Private Hospital is continually growing and offers exciting opportunities and professional career pathways in health care.

Essential Criteria:

·       Previous medical reception/administration experience

·       Prior experience in the health industry

·       Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative

·       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

·       Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment

·       Experience in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)

·       Flexible to work a variety of shifts – early/late shifts

·       Experience working with patient management system (Desirable)
