Allied Health Manager – Permanent Full Time
The Hills Private Hospital is seeking a permanent full time, Monday to Friday, Allied Health Manager with a minimum of 5 years' experience managing in a clinical setting.
The Hills Private Hospital is a refurbished private hospital with 86 inpatient rehabilitation beds, 25 inpatient mental health beds and Day Rehabilitation Services. We currently offer orthopaedic, neurological, reconditioning and amputee rehabilitation programs & group based mental health services.
Primary responsibilities of this position are:
· Providing leadership and direction to the Allied Health Team that compliments the strategic direction, daily operational processes, budget and business direction of the hospital /facility
· Participating in the marketing initiatives of the hospital/facility to promote admissions and be an active member of the leadership and management team.
· Overseeing the identification, implementation and evaluation of allied health services to enhance clinical outcomes and compliance with legislative requirements
· Undertaking direct patient care in the field of qualifications (e.g. physiotherapy, occupational therapist, speech pathologist), providing guidance and support to the junior members of the allied health team.
· Ensuring Allied Health costs per patient day are maintained in-line with the budget.
· Being an active member of the management team and working closely with the General Manager and Director of Nursing
· Co-ordinate allied health rehabilitation and mental health staff & day to day running of the inpatient rehabilitation team
· Provide supervision and support to staff working within the allied health inpatient rehabilitation team
· Coordinate student university placements
· Drive/co-ordinate quality improvement activities within the inpatient rehabilitation team
· Be involved in internal staff training and development
· Recruitment and orientation of new staff to the clinical area
Selection Criteria:
· Relevant allied health degree qualifications
· Current registration/accreditation with AHPRA/professional credentialing organisation
· Extensive rehabilitation experience
· Management / staff supervision experience
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team
· Superior time management and organisational skills
