Healthscope is seeking an experienced Health Information Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. In this fast paced and varied environment you will utilise your excellent leadership skills and clinical coding skills to maintain the highest operational standards. This role will oversee the Health Information function at Holmesglen Private Hospital.

The Hospital includes; 147 beds across 5 Wards providing Medical, Surgical and Rehabilitation Services, combined Intensive Care and Coronary Care Unit, Emergency Department, 7 Operating Suites, Catheter Laboratory, Day of Surgery Admission and Day Infusion/Oncology Services.

As a Chief Health Information Manager your responsibilities will include:
Management of Clinical Coding Activities, Mandatory Reporting and Collection of Information
Casemix and Revenue Management
Management and Administration of Health Information Services Department Functions and Quality Activities
Lead and Promote the Accurate, Complete and Timely Documentation of Clinical Information
Quality and Risk Management
Workplace Health and Safety
Essential Criteria:
Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Information Management (or equivalent)
To be eligible for membership with the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA).
Post Graduate Management studies
3 years record coding experience and exposed to a variety of medical and surgical specialties, auditing and revenue maximisation.
Demonstrated leadership skills
Problem solving ability
Demonstrated management experience across multiple locations
Excellent Communication and Organisational Skills
Ability to prioritise and time manage
Extensive knowledge of Clinical Coding and Casemix
Understanding of Private Health Funding Models
An interest in promoting best practice patient care
