Knox Private Hospital is seeking experienced and passionate Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) to join our surgical and specialty ward teams. We have exciting opportunities available across Larra Ward (Orthopaedics & Neurosurgery) and Sherbrooke Ward (Orthopaedics, ENT & Paediatrics).
This is a fantastic opportunity for skilled Registered Nurses who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care, driving clinical excellence, and supporting the development of their colleagues in a collaborative and supportive environment.
About the Role
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will provide advanced clinical care and leadership within the clinical area. The CNS supports staff development through bedside teaching, coaching, and role modelling. Working closely with the Nurse Unit Manager and multidisciplinary teams, you will play a key role in promoting best practice, mentoring nursing staff, and contributing to positive patient outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centred care
- Providing clinical leadership and support to nursing teams
- Acting as a resource and mentor for junior staff
- Supporting quality improvement and accreditation activities
- Promoting evidence-based practice and continuous learning
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 4 years' post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting with 3 years working within the relevant speciality field.
- Relevant clinical experience in Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, ENT and/or Paediatrics
- Demonstrated advanced clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to quality improvement and patient-centred care
- Postgraduate qualifications and have 12 months experience in the area of qualification as an RN; (or working towards) in a relevant specialty will be highly regarded
