As a member of our team you will play an important role, in providing high quality service to our Day Procedure Unit at Melbourne Private Hospital.

Melbourne Private Hospital is a 124 bed private hospital co-located with the Royal Melbourne Hospital in the heart of Parkville, 1.7km from Melbourne CBD. Our hospital offers highly specialised services including extensive neurosurgery, neurology, advanced coronary care, cardiothoracic, orthopaedic and general surgeryThese services are supported by a 10-bed intensive care unit, 4-bed acute coronary care unit and 6-bed neurosurgical high dependency unit.

Day Procedure Unit at Melbourne Private Hospital caters for a range of patients.  This includes gastroenterology, EBUS and short stay day surgery patients.  The Day Procedure Unit comprises of six admission/recovery bays and a single endoscopy/procedure room.

As Endoscope Technician/CSSD Instrument Technician your responsibilities will include:

  • Thermal disinfection inspection, packaging and sterilising of all instrumentation for theatre and other clinical areas
  • Comply with AS/NZ standards 4187 2014, GENCA
  • Operate interpret and document all machinery operational requirements
  • Report and document all quality activities
  • Ensure priority of instrumentation and processes

Essential Criteria:       

  • Demonstrated knowledge of instrumentation
  • Minimum 6 months experience
  • sterilisation certificate 4187 standards and GENCA 2014
  • Olympus reprocessing certificate (Advantageous) or familiarity with Olympus equipment
  • Endoscopy reprocessing experience
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Intermediate computer literacy skills - including MS office and various data bases An interest in promoting best practice patient care
  • A focus on professional development
