We currently have an opportunity for further career development. Are you an RN who is seeking employment as a midwifery student at Northern Beaches Hospital? Our Graduate Diploma in Midwifery Program is now open for applications at Northern Beaches Hospital. This program will provide you with a supportive and caring environment in which to learn, develop and consolidate clinical skills in midwifery.
Graduate Diploma in Midwifery Program Includes:
- Comprehensive Orientation Program
- Experienced preceptors for initial and ongoing support
- A structured program across the continuum of maternal and newborn care
- Continuity of care experiences in line with university requirements
- Support from highly skilled staff
- Flexible rostering
- Purpose built onsite education centre with the latest technology for teaching, simulation and presentations
- Opportunity for permanent employment on completion of the program
Selection Criteria:
- Current Nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Registered Nurse with minimum 1 year full time experience in an acute care setting
- Australian Citizen
- Concurrent Enrolment in a Diploma of Midwifery University program at UTS or WSU
- Ability to undertake Part Time employment of FTE 0.84, 8 and 12 hr shifts on a 7-day rotating roster
- Understanding the role of a midwife within a primary healthcare framework
- Demonstrated ability in clinical problem solving.
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of, and ability to work within a team
