Newcastle Private Hospital is a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit. It also has a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region.
We are also an integrated, multidisciplinary cancer service, offering chemotherapy and immunotherapies for both inpatients and outpatients in our 9 chair infusion centre and dedicated 10 bed oncology ward.
What’s Included in the Graduate Program?
Our 12-month program, available in full-time or part-time roles (minimum 30 hours/week), is designed to help early career nurses and midwives transition into independent practice and enhance their clinical skills. This program is paired with an additional Consolidation Year to ensure you’re well-prepared to succeed.

What we’ll need from you
· Evidence of Australian working rights
· Completion of a nursing or midwifery course after 1st June 2025 or expected completion at least one month before starting.
· Availability for a minimum of 30 hours/week, on a rotating roster including AM, PM, night, weekends, and public holidays.

· Two recent student clinical placement reports (Mandatory)
· Proof of Australian working rights (e.g. Australian / New Zealand passport, Australian birth certificate, or international passport and relevant Australian working visa evidence). If you currently hold a student visa, please outline your plans for your next visa
