Are you an enthusiastic and passionate Physiotherapist looking to join a highly experienced interdisciplinary Allied Health team? 
The Physiotherapy team are a passionate and friendly team who work collaboratively to provide excellence in patient care.

Knox Private Hospital has an opportunity for physiotherapists to join our team in a casual capacity for weekend shifts in ICU.

We have a 24/7 Emergency Department, covering a full range of medical and surgical specialty areas, including highly complex surgeries. Backed by the latest technology and expertise, we offer 15 theatres, including a hybrid theatre, diagnostic cardiology, two cardiac cath labs and capabilities for cardiothoracic surgery, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, urology and more. All supported by a soon to be expanded coronary care unit and intensive care unit.

Exciting new expansion for Knox Private Hospital

Work is well underway on a major expansion of Knox Private Hospital that will help us continue to meet the growing demand for quality health care across Melbourne’s east. Our new state of the art, 14 bed ICU is due to open in April 2024.

The new multi-million-dollar expansion will help Knox Private deliver an expanded and enhanced service offering for our patients, and will further cement our reputation as a world-class healthcare facility.

2023/2024 Expansion Project includes:

Three story North Tower with two wards (60 beds)upgrade to Knox Heart Centre (our non-invasive diagnostic cardiology), both recently commissioned, upgrade and increase in ICU and CCU beds, 16 chair renal dialysis unit and Specialist Consulting Suites.


As a Physiotherapist, your responsibilities will include:

  •        Delivering excellent clinical services related to assessment, treatment, planning and evidence based practice fir patient in an ICU setting
  •        Provision of acute cardio-respiratory intervention for patient in ICU setting.
  •        Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients and their support people
  •       Collaboration with the MDT on treatment planning and discharge planning.


Essential criteria:

  • Bachelor in Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • Current AHPRA Registration
  • Acute hospital experience, with a  minimum of 1-year ICU experience required (tracheostomy management  and NIV experience desirable).
  • Excellent clinical practice skills in assessment and intervention.
  • Highly developed communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork
  • Ability for work on weekends
