Operated by Healthscope, Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) is located in Frenchs Forest, only 13kms north of Sydney CBD. The hospital is a contemporary 488 bed facility comprising of 60% public and 40% private beds. Providing a wide range of health services to the local community, including Surgery, a 50 bed Emergency Department, Intensive Care, Birthing, Paediatrics, Cardiac, Mental Health, Dialysis, Cancer Centre and Outpatients.
NBH has 13 operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheter theatre, two Catheter Laboratories and four endoscopy procedure rooms, all supported by a critical care unit which includes two intensive care wards.

About the Role

Physiotherapy Assistant - Permanent, full time - 76 hours per fortnight

This position is a temporary full time role that will see you responsible for assisting Physiotherapists with providing a high quality physiotherapy service to inpatients and/or outpatients of the Northern Beaches Hospital.
The role will assist in implementing therapeutic activities and patient related administration duties under the direction of Physiotherapists. The Physiotherapy Assistant is a front line clinical position that will support exercise, mobility and other therapeutic programs as established by the Physiotherapist in order to assist patients reach their treatment goals. 
Selection Criteria:

• Certificate III / IV in Allied Health Assistance (or a commitment to work towards the same)
• Previous experience working in a similar role within an acute hospital
• Ability to work under the direct supervision of a Physiotherapist as well as independently with direction for clinical and administrative tasks
• Ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines, complete activities and manage time effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills within the MDT
