Social Worker
Part Time HP2 or HP3 Social Worker

We are looking for a Social Worker with a passion for excellence in customer service delivery to join our team.
The ideal candidate would be available 3-4 days per week with the opportunity for extended hours for leave cover and as the service expands.
National Capital Private Hospital is a modern, progressive, acute surgical, medical and rehabilitation hospital of 148 beds located in the southern suburbs of Canberra. The hospital has 8 operating theatres, an intensive care unit, coronary care unit, day surgery unit, medical/rehabilitation and surgical wards. We provide services to patients from the ACT and southern NSW.
Your role will involve:
· Providing a social work service which includes timely assessments, counselling, education and discharge planning and referral with patients and their support networks
· Liaising with the multidisciplinary team and external service providers
· A high level of communication with colleagues, patients and their carers, and the medical teams
· Prioritisation and management of clinical caseload and close communication with social worker colleague
· Supervision with senior Social Worker and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Selection Criteria:
· Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Social Work
· Member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (or eligibility for the same)
· Minimum of 2 years clinical experience
· Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to provide a high level of skilled clinical social work services in an inpatient hospital setting, including assessments, interventions, counselling, discharge planning and referral.
· Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and prioritise workload according to clinical indicators and organisational requirements.
· Demonstrated ability to participate in and provide social work supervision that adheres to the AASW Practice Standards and to engage in and deliver team education, for both staff and social work students.
· Well-developed communication skills and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to liaise with service providers and external community agencies and groups.
· Demonstrated excellent organisation, time management and self-management skills.
· Demonstrated commitment to ongoing education and the provision of evidence based practice.
