Social Worker (casual)

     This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated Social Worker to join a flexible and dynamic team providing psycho-social support, family and carer liaison, counselling, discharge planning and patient education.

As a Social Worker you will work independently with patients and as a multidisciplinary team member to provide quality services to both our inpatients and day patients. 

Experience in rehabilitation services would be beneficial.

About us:

Lady Davidson Private Hospital, based in North Turramurra, is one of the largest private dedicated rehabilitation hospitals in Australia affiliated as a teaching hospital with Sydney and Macquarie Universities. With 115 inpatient rehabilitation beds, the hospital has been designed to promote rehabilitation through our inpatient programs. 

In addition to the inpatient component, we have a large, busy day patient department. Our programs within rehabilitation are based on a multidiscplinary team model where all members have an integral role. The major case-mix groups are orthopaedic, neurological, cardiac, respiratory and oncology rehabilitation.

Selection Criteria:

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Social Work
• Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
• Ability to work autonomously
• Well-developed communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organisation, time management and self-management skills
• Highly developed communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to ongoing education and the provision of evidence based practice
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence desirable
