Within this dedicated role you will be providing care and support of breast cancer patients throughout their treatment journey, offering expert care, education, and emotional support.
About Us:
Established in 2016 Gold Coast Private Hospital is a 339 bed, 22 operating theatre facility located in Southport, the heart of the Gold Coast Precinct. Specialities include and are not limited to: 24/7 Emergency Care Centre, Medical, Orthopaedic, Bariatric, Neurosurgical, Plastics, ENT & General Surgical, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care and Oncology. Gold Coast Private Hospital is continually growing and offers exciting opportunities and professional career pathways in health care.
· Provide specialized nursing care to patients with breast cancer, from diagnosis through all phases of treatment and follow-up.
· Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
· Offer education and counselling to patients and their families regarding breast cancer, treatment options, side effects, and post-treatment care.
· Coordinate diagnostic tests, treatments, and follow-up appointments to ensure seamless patient care.
· Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences, ensuring they receive appropriate and timely medical attention.
· Participate in patient case reviews and contribute to clinical decision-making processes.
· Stay current with advancements in breast cancer treatment and care, incorporating evidence-based practices into nursing care.
· Assist in the development and delivery of educational programs for patients and staff.
- Completion of Grad Cert in Breast Cancer Nursing or preparedness to enrol and complete this course
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care and support.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.
