  • Previous experience in a medical environment
  • Medical terminology knowledge
  • Experience with Webpas or other health database software
  • Reliable, flexible and can be available to cover shifts anytime between 8.00am and 7.00pm.

Our Patient Services Team have several vacancies for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to work alongside our team of Administration staff in supporting the hospital’s Admissions and Reception.
 
 
As an Administration Officer your responsibilities will include:
  • Perform a broad range of administration duties including: Meeting and greeting patients and their relatives
  • Pre-admission, Admission and Discharge processes
  • Tasks related to the smooth management of inpatient and outpatient services
  • Making patient appointments using an electronic system
  • Managing a high volume of telephone calls
  • Data entry, filing and record management
  • Perform Health Fund Checks as required
  • Manage the collection of excesses/co payments
  • Reporting using MS Excel and other software
 
Dorset Rehabilitation Centre is a fully accredited 30-bed rehabilitation facility in Pascoe Vale who are highly valued by the local community.  We provide fast stream multidisciplinary rehabilitation with inpatient, ambulatory care and home based rehabilitation services available.  Our major specialties are orthopaedic, cardiac, neurological, trauma, pain management and general reconditioning rehabilitation.
The successful applicant would ideally have previous hospital based experience although this is not essential.
 
 
Selection Criteria:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and customer service focus
  • Experience in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Works well independently and within a team
  • Flexible to work a variety of shifts – early/late shifts & weekend work
  • WebPas Hospital system experience (Desired)
