Nepean Private Hospital is located in the multi-cultural Western Sydney City of Penrith. The hospital is a modern 109 bed facility providing a wide range of health services to the local community since 2000 including: orthopaedics, spinal, gynaecology, ENT, plastics, urology and general surgery, endoscopy, cardiology, cardiac angiography and obstetrics. Nepean Private Hospital has 10 operating theatres and 1 hybrid/cardiac catheterisation theatre supported by a critical care unit which includes intensive care.

Our Administration and Day of Surgical Admissions Centre (DOSAC) Team is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work alongside our team providing support to the hospital’s DOSAC Unit.
As an Administration Officer, your responsibilities will be to perform a broad range of administration duties including:
o Provide Administration support and reception duties with our DOSAC and Theatre Complex Unit
o Manage a busy reception desk, answer and redirect telephone calls
o Maintain accurate and effective record management systems including preparation of medical records
o Ensure that patients’ records are updated, as required, including entering MBS Item Numbers
o Coordinate with staff from other departments
o Complete other clerical tasks such as data entry
Selection Criteria:
Selection Criteria must be addressed in cover letter to be considered.
· Well-developed strong communication and interpersonal skills with advanced problem solving and decision-making abilities to ensure excellence in customer service
· Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
· Strong attention to detail
· Experience in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
· The ability to work both independently and within a team
· Must have the availability to work a variety of shifts including 6:00 am start and 8pm finish shifts Monday to Friday
· Previous experience in a hospital or medical environment is highly desirable
