About the role:

Join the Pine Rivers Administration Team and play an important role in supporting the delivery of exceptional patient care. As one of the first points of contact for our patients, families, visitors and clinical teams, you'll provide professional, compassionate and efficient administrative support in a busy mental health environment.

You'll work as part of a collaborative administration team where excellent service, accuracy, communication and teamwork matters. Every interaction is an opportunity to create a positive experience for our patients and the people who support them.


About us

Located on the banks of the South Pine River in Strathpine, our 70-bed mental health facility provides comprehensive inpatient and day programs for the Queensland community. We specialise in the treatment of addiction, bipolar and depressive disorders, mood disorders, OCD, PTSD and complex PTSD, psychosis and chronic pain. We also provide specialised therapies including EMDR, TMS, esketamine and ECT.


Key responsibilities:

  • Provide a welcoming and professional service to our patients, families, visitors and staff
  • Coordinating patient admissions and supporting a smooth and positive patient journey
  • Managing reception, telephone and email enquiries professionally and efficiently
  • Completing health fund, Medicare and DVA eligibility checks as required
  • Processing patient payments, including excesses and co-payments accurately and sensitively
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential patient information across relevant systems
  • Completing administrative, billing and reporting functions as required
  • Managing competing priorities and deadlines in a busy clinical environment
  • Responding calmly and professionally to sensitive situations while maintaining patient privacy, dignity and confidentiality
  • Working collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical teams to support effective service delivery
  • Identifying opportunities to improve administrative processes and service delivery

 

About you:

You're a proactive, compassionate and reliable team member who understands that great administration is an important part of great patient care.

You thrive in a busy environment, remain calm when priorities change and are comfortable taking initiative, solving problems and asking questions when you need support.

You value clear communication, take pride in accuracy and follow-through, and are willing to contribute ideas that help the team work more effectively. Most importantly, you understand the importance of treating every person with dignity, empathy and respect.


You will bring:

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer literacy, including demonstrated experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, with the ability to confidently learn and navigate multiple electronic systems
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands
  • The confidence and capability to work independently when required, including during shifts where you may be the sole Administration Officer on duty
  • The ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively as part of a team
  • Confidence using EFTPOS and electronic payment systems
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts across the department’s operating hours
  • Previous administrative experience in a busy office-based environment is essential
  • Previous healthcare administration experience is desirable but not essential
