Assistant in Midwifery
About the role
Gold Coast Private Hospital is seeking Assistants in Midwifery to join their maternity ward on a casual basis. You will take pride in your work, have a friendly and positive work attitude and be willing to develop your knowledge in all areas of midwifery in this fast paced and varied environment. The ideal candidate will be in their third year of their midwifery degree.
We are passionate about your career journey and offer flexibility to suit your lifestyle and study program. Shifts are across a 7-day roster and include both AM and PM shifts ranging from 10am start time through to 7pm shift end. This role is a great way to gain exposure to the maternity ward and work under the guidance of our passionate and dedicated midwives.

· Assist nurses or hospital staff in carrying out patient care duties across Special care nurse, birth suite and post delivery care.
· Work as part of the health care team; practice in accordance with state legislation and within the designated scope of practice
· Answering patient/visitor/customer enquiries
· Currently studying 3rd year Bachelor of Midwifery
· Excellent ability to plan and prioritise work
· Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
· Ability to follow instructions and take directions as required
