Knox Private Hospital is looking for an Associate Nurse Unit Manager for our Cardiac ward

We have a 24/7 Emergency Department, covering a full range of medical and surgical specialty areas, including highly complex surgeries. Backed by the latest technology and expertise, we offer 15 theatres, including a hybrid theatre, diagnostic cardiology, two cardiac cath labs and capabilities for cardiothoracic surgery, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, urology and more.
All supported by a soon to be expanded coronary care unit and intensive care unit. Our expert care team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses and other professionals will ensure that your experience is the best it can be.
As an ANUM, your responsibilities will include:
- Facilitate a learning culture to ensure continuous improvement
- Maintain professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners to enable high quality patient outcomes.
- Provide clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based
- Effective daily management of human, financial and material resources
- Coordinate and drive clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives
- Looking after a variety of cardiac patients (heart failure, chest pain, arrhythmias)
- Looking after patients pre and post cath lab (coronary angiograms, PPM)
- Preparing patients for CABGs/Valve surgeries
Selection Criteria:
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- National Police Clearance and Working with Children check
- Sound clinical knowledge with 2+ years cardiac experience preferred
- Current or previous ANUM or clinical nurse specialist experience (desirable)
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills
- Positive role modelling behaviours
- Excellent customer service focus, time management and prioritisation
