An exciting opportunity exists for a Catering Manager to oversee the Catering Department at Knox Private Hospital.  Enthusiastic individuals who can demonstrate proven experience in a management role, a commitment to patient care and customer service are invited to apply.

Reporting to the Support Services Manager, you will be required to provide leadership and direction to the Catering Department to compliment the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the hospital. The Catering Manager will be responsible for the day to day running of the Department including Staff management, staffing using a computerised rostering system, Ordering, Food Safety, Quality and Function Management

Knox Private Hospital is the largest private hospital in the eastern and south eastern corridor of Melbourne. We operate 280 patient beds, 15 theatres, a 24-hour Emergency Department, an on-site medical team, a 20 bed Intensive Care/Coronary Care Unit and a Day Procedure Unit.  We offer a broad range of acute services, with over 25 specialty areas and are leaders in cardiac and general surgery, obstetrics, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, urology, plastics and vascular surgery.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience in a management/leadership role within a kitchen of a Healthcare facility / Hotel
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills and proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Qualified Chef or Cook / Kitchen Manager
  • Highly developed computer skills
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills
  • Customer focused
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Attention to detail and food presentation skills
  • Thorough knowledge of Dietary conditions
  • Quality Improvement commitment
  • Ability to train and empower staff
