An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Coder to join our Health Information Services team. Your excellent time management and organisational skills, along with considerable clinical coding experience will ensure your success in this position.

 

As a Clinical Coder your responsibilities will include: 

  • Timely and accurate clinical coding
  • Participate in case mix analysis, education & quality activities
  • Clinical documentation improvement initiatives
  • Participate in audits as necessary

Darwin Private Hospital is the only provider of private hospital services in the Northern Territory. As part of the Healthscope Group of Hospitals, it is a licenced 122 bed hospital providing a broad range of multiday and day surgery including Paediatrics, Cardiac Catheterisation, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Plastic and Reconstructive, ENT, Urology, Gastroenterology and ENT.  Our services include a dedicated maternal and neonatal unit, paediatric unit, acute medical surgical unit, rehabilitation unit, mental health and AoD unit and an angiography suite.


Essential Criteria: 

  • HIMAA Certification in Clinical Coding with experience in ICD-10-AM , ACHI & ACS
  • Proven experience in clinical coding
  • Sound understanding of Codefinder & Turbocoder
  • Strong organisational skills in planning, prioritising and managing workloads Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work within a team environment

Desirable Criteria

  • Sound Knowledge of private sector funding models
  • Demonstrated understanding in WebPAS patient information system

If you are successful in the role, your salary will be $50.25 per hour (99,294 pa) against the current Healthscope and the Darwin Private Hospital – Non-Clinical Employees - Enterprise Agreement 2022
