Are you passionate about clinical coder education and committed to leading clinical coding teams to achieve high quality data outcomes? An exciting opportunity is currently available for a Clinical Coding Auditor to join the friendly and supportive Health Information Services team at Northern Beaches Hospital. The position would suit a highly motivated individual with excellent clinical coding skills seeking to expand/consolidate their experience working with a more complex casemix.

 

Opening 30 October 2018, Northern Beaches Hospital will be a fully licensed private hospital, providing care to public and private patients from an outstanding facility with a large range of quality services provided by exceptional nurses, doctors and staff. 

 

As the Clinical Coding Auditor/Educator you will make an impact by ensuring that the clinical coding accurately reflects the complete clinical picture of patients treated at Northern Beaches Hospital.

 

You will:

  • Be responsible for the ongoing auditing and evaluation of the clinical coding at Northern Beaches Hospital

  • Prepare and present relevant educational material as required to staff both internal and external to Health Information Services

  • Be responsible for the implementation and management of a Coding audit program.

  • Participate in case mix analysis, education & quality activities

  • Assist with clinical documentation improvement initiatives

  • Participate in audits as necessary

You will bring to our high-performing team:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Information Management (or equivalent) and eligible for membership with the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) OR HIMAA Intermediate/Advanced Clinical Coding Course

  • Up to date extensive knowledge with at least 5 years Clinical Coding knowledge and experience using ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Ability to prioritise and time manage

  • Problem solving ability.

  • Previous experience with eMR system

  • Excellent oral and written communication

  • Advanced computer literacy & sound knowledge of Microsoft Office
