About the Role
As the Clinical Coordinator Orthopaedics, you will work in close partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager to provide clinical leadership across our 55‑bed Orthopaedic Ward.
This role offers a meaningful leadership pathway, including opportunities to act in the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) role during periods of planned and unplanned NUM leave, supporting your leadership growth and succession development.
You will:
- Lead day‑to‑day clinical operations to ensure safe, high‑quality, individualised care
- Support efficient patient flow and the Orthopaedic Outreach Model of Care
- Provide visible, calm and supportive leadership on the ward
- Coach, mentors and develops team members to perform at their bes
- Champion a positive and inclusive culture aligned with the Norwest Bricks of Commitment
- Build strong, collaborative partnerships with VMOs and Allied Health Team
- Drive quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient, team and doctor experience
- Step into Acting Nurse Unit Manager responsibilities as required, maintaining continuity and stability of leadership
Our Orthopaedic Service
Our experienced multidisciplinary Orthopaedic team provides care across the full spectrum, including:
- Hip, knee and shoulder arthritis
- Sports injuries and trauma
- Spinal conditions
- Hand, shoulder, elbow, wrist and foot disorders
- Paediatric orthopaedic care
About You
You are a values driven clinical leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is motivated by helping patients and families achieve the best possible outcomes.
You will bring:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in Orthopaedic Nursing
- A strong commitment to exceptional patient experience and individualised care
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead clinical teams
- Confidence supporting patient flow and operational efficiency
- Proven, respectful partnerships with doctors and multidisciplinary teams
- Advanced communication skills: calm, clear and solution‑focused
- A proactive approach to quality improvement, safety and service excellence
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Availability to work Monday to Friday morning shifts
Desirable:
- Relevant postgraduate qualification or willingness to work towards
