Are you an experienced Cath Lab nurse who thrives on developing others and advancing clinical excellence?

Gold Coast Private Hospital is seeking a Clinical Facilitator to support clinical development, enhance staff capability and promote safe, effective patient care across our integrated Cath Lab suites. 

This role combines your procedural expertise with a passion for developing and supporting a highperforming team, sharing knowledge and embedding best practice in line with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.

As the Clinical Facilitator, you will provide education and clinical leadership across a uniquely diverse Cath Lab service encompassing Cardiac, Vascular, Electrophysiology (EP), Neurointerventional and Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures, supporting evidencebased practice to optimise patient outcomes.

About the Role

As a Clinical Facilitator in the Cath Lab, you will help cultivate a high‑performance clinical team through education, mentoring and evidence‑informed practice.

In this role, you will provide:

Education & Clinical Support

  • Provide hands‑on clinical support within the Cath Lab to guide safe procedural practice, coach staff in real time and reinforce high‑quality, evidence‑based Cardiac and Interventional practice.
  • Coordinate, develop and deliver Cath Lab–specific education programs that support evidence‑based practice and strengthen clinical capability.

Capability Development

  • Support staff to develop the required clinical capabilities for safe, high‑acuity Cath Lab practice.
  • Act as a clinical role model, demonstrating advanced procedural skills and professional behaviours.

Quality & Best Practice

  • Support continuous improvement consistent with Cath Lab policies, procedural guidelines and NSQHS Standards.

·         Coordinate and participate in qualityimprovement activities, audits and servicedevelopment initiatives to enhance safety, performance and patient outcomes.

·         Collaborate effectively with cardiologists, electrophysiologists, vascular surgeons, neurointerventional specialists and interventional radiologists to support safe, highquality care across all procedural areas.

·         Support staff to recognise and respond to clinical deterioration or emergency situations through real‑time guidance, simulation‑based training and structured debriefing to strengthen clinical confidence and reflective practice.

·         Promote a strong “Speaking Up for Safety” culture by supporting staff to recognise, escalate and act on clinical concerns in a timely and effective manner.

Learning Culture

  • Promote a positive learning environment that encourages reflection, curiosity, professional growth and high‑performance teamwork.
  • Provide structured coaching and development opportunities for both new and experienced staff.

Essential Criteria

·         Minimum 3 years’ clinical experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab with advanced knowledge and skills

·         Current AHPRA Registered Nurse registration

·         Strong knowledge of Cath Lab practice, procedural workflows, ACORN‑relevant standards, NSQHS requirements and WHS principles

·         Excellent clinical communication, teaching and leadership skills

·         High digital literacy, including competence with digital clinical systems and eLearning platforms

·         Ability to meet on‑call requirements with appropriate response time

·         Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification

 

Desirable

·         Post‑graduate qualification in Cardiac, Critical/Acute Care Nursing, Interventional/Cardiac Care, or Clinical Education — or working towards completion

·         Experience mentoring, coaching and supporting nursing staff within a specialised, interventional procedural environment
