An opportunity has arisen for an experienced birthing suite midwife who is highly motivated, enthusiastic and ready to further their midwifery career as a Clinical Midwifery Specialist in a full-time capacity.  We are looking for an expert birth suite midwife, has extensive knowledge and skills in antenatal and intrapartum care as well as a passion for and ability to nurture and teach student midwives and lead and develop less experienced midwives.

As a Clinical Midwifery Specialist (CMS) you will demonstrate leadership and role modelling in the care of antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal women seeking care within the Private Healthcare setting.

The CMS is also responsible for the delivery of quality women centered care, developing standards of practice, implementing changes to clinical practice and initiating research and quality improvement activities. You will work as part of the health care team participating in working parties or committees as required and demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvement.

Essential Criteria:

·         Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife with a minimum of five years’ relevant post registration qualifications and extensive experience working in the provision of antenatal, intrapartum and post-natal midwifery services.

·         Evidence of clinical leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework to plan, deliver and coordinate women and newborn care.

·         Demonstrated ability to apply advanced clinical expertise in relation to clinical midwifery practice and independently make decisions that support positive outcomes for women and newborns.

·         Demonstrated commitment to excellence in midwifery practice, the provision of education to others and own professional development.

·         Demonstrated effective communication through the use of information technology, written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.

·         Demonstrated proactive approach to problem solving

·         Demonstrated professional manner when working with complex situations. Demonstrated knowledge and application of quality improvement initiative using research principles to support evidence-based practice, including development of policies and guidelines

·         Knowledge of legislative obligations for Workplace Health and Safety, and the impact on employment and service delivery

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2024, a salary ranging from $57.12 – $63.37 per hour
