Clinical Nurse - Day Surgery Unit
Are you a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Registered Nurse looking for a new position?
The Day Surgery unit is a Day of Surgery admission Centre as well as a Day Surgery/ Endoscopy unit. There are 2 procedure rooms which are utilized primarily for endoscopy as well as minor plastics and urological procedures. Due to growth in our day surgery and endoscopy specialty, we are seeking an experienced registered nurse to join our team on a full time basis.

Sunnybank Private Hospital is an evolving facility that has provided care to the local community for over 40 years and continually embraces the highest quality of holistic patient care. Recently undergoing a significant redevelopment, our facility has new consulting suites, operating theatres, day surgery and endoscopy suites as well as refurbished maternity unit. The facility is comprised of 120 inpatient beds, 7 operating theatres, 2 procedure rooms and an ICU.
The Clinical Nurse (CN) role provides advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning and coordination skills in the clinical management of perioperative patients with complex care needs, ensuring quality standards are met. This role works autonomously within the healthcare team structure and is pivotal in the planning, managing and delivering of perioperative specialist nursing care. The CN provides clinical leadership for professional and clinical practice, education and research. The role supports in management activities including portfolio responsibilities.
As a Clinical Nurse your responsibilities will include:
- Deliver safe, researched-based standards of nursing care
- Provide complex and multi-disciplinary care
- Work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to support patient care needs
- Act as a role model for Safe Practice
- Deliver education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation or end of life needs
Essential Criteria:
- Authority to Work in Australia
- Working with Children check (if relevant)
- Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
- Current Registration (no restriction) with AHPRA
- Experienced in the theatre environment (Essential)
- Previous experience in clinical education and training.
- An ability to influence at various hospital levels, plan efficiently and effectively and show drive to achieve results.
- Outstanding relationship building and communication skills.
- Productive in a self-directed environment.
- Able to communicate with people on a variety of knowledge levels.
- Clinical expertise and commitment to high quality patient care and continuous improvement
- Self-motivated and proven ability to work as part of a high functioning team
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, proactive, motivated and customer focused
