  • Part-time role (40hrs/fortnight as CNE)
  • Opportunity to fulfil a full time role working remaining hours as a Registered Nurse

An opportunity currently exists for a part-time Clinical Nurse Educator in the Intensive Care Unit of Norwest Private Hospital.
 
Norwest Private Hospital is a 277 bed high acuity facility located in Sydney’s rapidly developing North West and is operated by Healthscope, a leading provider of private healthcare in Australia. Norwest Private Intensive care unit is a 19 bed ICU with key specialities including cardiothoracic, neurosurgical and general surgery.  We also provide specialist care for patient’s admitted through the hospital emergency department, and play a key role in the hospital’s MET response. 
 
 
 
Key responsibilities:
  • The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for planning, co-ordination, presentation,  on-going evaluation of educational programs in the Intensive Care Unit and  clinical bedside teaching for all staff including the ‘Transition to Critical Care Mentor Program’, for novice Intensive Care staff
  • The CNE role also includes orientation, competency development and assessment, planning and coordination of ward level in-service programs, supporting e-learning and Mandatory Training for Registered Nurses, New Graduate Nurses and students in critical care. The CNE works in conjunction with the ICU Nurse Educator to ensure continuous high quality patient care delivered by highly skilled, well-educated and motivated ICU staff
  • The successful candidate will be a highly skilled ICU Nurse, with demonstrated commitment to life-long learning, and the ability to support the professional development of others. Knowledge and ability to participate in quality improvement is required. The CNE will fulfil their Educator Role with the support of the ICU Nurse Educator, the Nurse Unit Manager and the Hospital Education Manager. The CNE position will report to NUM ICU & Education Manager
  • The CNE will be required to work as part of the Norwest Critical Care and Norwest Education Teams, attend relevant policy & procedure meetings, ward meetings and monthly education meetings
 
 
 
Essential Criteria:
  • Completion of Certificate IV, (Workplace Training and Assessment) or working towards
  • Previous Education experience in Critical Care
  • Post-Graduate qualification in Critical Care
 
 
 
If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2015 – 2019, a salary ranging from $32.04 - $48.84 per hour.
