Are you a Clinical Professional seeking a rewarding career? Mount Hospital is looking for suitably qualified Clinical Nurse- Respiratory to join our dynamic team of nurses in Cardiac Care Unit

Our CCU is a busy, fast-paced unit requiring commitment, team work and excellent time management skills to function effectively.  We have a high turnover of interventional cardiology patients as well as medical cardiology and high acuity respiratory and heart failure patients, some requiring non-invasive ventilation and intensive management.  We offer the public a fast access admission service in which patients present with acute cardiac or respiratory illnesses for assessment by our 24/7 Registrar coverage.  CCU has an exciting and busy atmosphere that is in the midst of a growth phase. As the Clinical Nurse your responsibilities will include:
  • Deliver quality-nursing care by Assessing, Planning, Implementing and evaluating individual patient care
  • Provide a standard of care according to the individuals level of experience and education maintaining high quality nursing care within a safe environment
  • Develop and utilise strategies that encourage an atmosphere conducive to effective communication
  • Work in partnership with patients and families in decision-making regarding provision of care promoting beneficial relationships
  • Be a role model and resource for all things respiratory
  • Provide in-service education that relates to respiratory patients
  • Work with the SDN to ensure the team in CCU has an adequate knowledge of the latest in respiratory research
  • Attend weekly MDT meetings
 

Selection Criteria:
  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum of 5 years nursing experience with the majority of this being with respiratory type patients
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality patient care
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
  • Post graduate qualifications in respiratory or similar will be highly regarded
