The Department
CCU has recently expanded to a 57 bed unit with 44 CCU beds and 13 Urology beds located across 2 levels. Level 1 has 20 beds that are adjacent to the 19-bed intensive care unit. Level 2 has 24 beds CCU and shares the floor with a 13 bed Urology unit.
CCU supports a very busy Emergency Dept, Intensive Care Unit, and the growing Angiography and hybrid unit.
The Role
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist you will take a leadership role in the coordination of nursing care, providing evidence based, hands on nursing care, supervision, clinical education, direction and support for Registered nurses, Enrolled nurses and Assistants in nursing. You will work as part of the health care team participating in working parties or committees as required and demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
The successful applicant will fulfill their role within the unit with the support of the Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Educator.
Essential Criteria:
- Current registration with AHPRA as a registered nurse
- A minimum of five years’ experience in Cardiac Nursing
- Proven commitment to clinical nursing and ongoing learning and development
- Advanced communication skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a willingness to learn new skills
- Well- developed problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated professional manner when working with complex situations
- Post Graduate qualifications in Cardiac/Cardiothoracic or Critical Care Nursing
- Willing to do rotating roster
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience in a team leader role and/or management

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2020 – 2024, a salary ranging from $51.81 - $57.48 per hour.
