About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Diet Monitor to join our busy food services department on a permanent part time basis. You will work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment that strives to deliver outstanding healthcare to our patients.
Reporting to the Support Services Manager, you will work with the team to provide safe and clinically appropriate nutrition from food, beverages and specialised nutrition products to hospital patients.

Set at the top of Wickham Terrace, Brisbane’s busiest medical precinct, above the Roma Street Parklands in the heart of the CBD, Brisbane Private Hospital is an acute and rehabilitation hospital with 181 beds, 17 operating theatres and dedicated surgical, ICU and rehabilitation wards. Brisbane Private Hospital specialises in Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, Spinal, ENT, Pain and Rehabilitation with additional specialties including Plastics, Urology, General Surgery, Gynaecology and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Brisbane Private Hospital also delivers a leading private drug and alcohol program, Damascus Health Services, from its dedicated drug and alcohol rehabilitation unit.
As a Diet Monitor your responsibilities will include:
- Menu monitoring and selection ensuring patients are receiving the correct food as per dietary requirements
- Quality control - Ensuring that all food leaving the kitchen is to the same high standard every time
- Supply of supplements to patients
- Other kitchen duties as required
Selection Criteria:
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (Desirable)
- Chef Max and Webpass experience advantageous
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong focus on patient care and customer service
- Ability to follow diet protocols, safe operating procedures
- Strong computer skills and experience in quality improvement
- Ability to work to strict deadlines
- Healthcare experience desired but not essential
