About the role: 

The Hunter Private hospital is seeking to employ enthusiastic and experienced Support Services Assistants to join our team on a part-time basis, 24 hours per week.

 Hunter Valley Private Hospital is located on the fringe of Newcastle, close to beaches and the Hunter Valley and is close to the Pacific Motorway, vineyards and university. The hospital is an 83-bed facility which offers a variety of surgical, medical and rehabilitation services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver excellent customer service to staff, clients and patients
  • Deliver, serve and collect all patient food requirements and meal trays 
  • Assist in daily food preparation and basic meal assembly
  • Clean and maintain utensils and kitchen equipment in accordance with hospital & industry food safety and hygiene standards 
  • Provide high standards of cleaning services
  • Operate in line with infection control standards and WHS policy & procedures


Essential Criteria:

  • Experience in Hospital/Hotel cleaning
  • Time management skills
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Works well independently and within a team
  • Current Food Processing Certificate Level 1 (working towards or willing to attain)
  • Prior experience in Healthcare Food Services
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to work without supervision as well as a part of a team
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Flexible to work a variety of shifts - early/late shifts & weekend work
