  • Food Services Team Leader

Newcastle Private Hospital is looking to employ a Team Leader to join our busy team. You will work closely with the Food Service Manager ensuring that outstanding food service are delivered to our patient and be responsible in his absence.
This position is hands on, it involves working closely with our patients, nursing team, dietician, food service team and our WHs department.  Our aim is to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient meals, safe systems of work and predetermined quality standards whilst ensuring that patient food service expectations are exceeded.

Selection Criteria:  
  • 4+ years’ Experience of managing 15+ team members.
  • Experience in WHS, managing staffs RTW and human resource.
  • Excellent organization, time management, diplomacy, delegation.   and problem-solving skills together with a logical and methodical approach to the work at hand
  • Commitment to working within pre-determined budgets
  • Ability to manage cost effective rostering
  • Excellent customer service/people skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate in English
  • Proven Leadership abilities, and capable of maintaining a friendly positive, safe and organized workplace
  • The ability to strictly adhere to and ensure compliance with our food safety program and departmental working guidelines
  • A stable employment track record of 2-3 years in previous jobs
  • A natural desire to serve people and a passion in making a real difference in a hospital food service department
  • Ability to overcome challenges and resolve issues at hand
  • Good presentation, with a happy outlook and the ability to calmly work under pressure.  
  • References from your last 3 employers (CEOs, GMs or Direct Managers).
  • The confidence to take charge of department when the manager is absent are exceeded.   
Desired criteria:
  • Hospitality management/leadership skills qualification or studying for a qualification
