Holmesglen Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Food Services Assistant /Kitchen Hand to join our hotel services team part time or on a casual basis. In this fast paced and varied environment you will take pride in your work, have a friendly and positive work attitude and a commitment to customer satisfaction. We are seeking an energetic, flexible team member available to work rostered shifts. 

It is important that you have the flexibility to work on a rotating roster - Monday to Sunday across the below shift times. Shifts times are either 6.30am-2.30pm or 4pm-8pm.

About us
Holmesglen Private Hospital is a comprehensive 147 beds acute private hospital. Our hospital offers highly specialised services including an emergency department, advanced coronary care, cardiothoracic, orthopaedic and general surgery. These services are supported by a 6-bed intensive care unit, 9-bed acute coronary care unit and 7 operating theatres.

As a Food Service Assistant your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in daily food preparation and basic meal assembly
  • Deliver, serve and collect all patient food requirements and meal trays
  • Assist in general cleaning of kitchen equipment and utensils including dish and pot washing as required.
  • Act as a valued member of an interdisciplinary team by promoting a professional and positive team culture.
  • Provide high standard of customer service
  • Operate in line with WHS policy & procedures
  • Deliver excellent customer service to staff, clients and patients
  • Have demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development

Essential Criteria:

  • Authority to Work in Australia
  • Working with Children check (if relevant)
  • Experience in Hospitality (desirable)
  • Food Handler Certificate or Certificate III in Hospitality (desirable)
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Commitment to service excellence.
  • Strong communication and customer skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Work well independently and within a team
