Food Services Assistant / Environmental Services Assistant – Casual Shifts

Hobart Private is looking to employ Food Services & Environmental Services (cleaning) team members to join our busy Guest Services department on a casual basis. With a variety of shifts available, you will work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment that strives to create a safe and supportive environment for our patients. 

As a Food Services Assistant (FSA) your responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver, serve and collect all patient food requirements and meal trays. 
  • Clean and maintain utensils and kitchen equipment in accordance with hospital & industry food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Provide high standard of cleaning services within the kitchen.
  • Operate in line with infection control standards and WHS policy & procedures.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to staff, clients and patients.

As an Environmental Services Assistant your responsibilities will include:

  • Clean patient rooms, common areas and equipment whilst managing waste and tracking stock supplies.
  • Provide high standard of cleaning services across our wards.
  • Maintain all areas in a clean, sanitary and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
  • Operate in line with infection control standards and WHS policy & procedures.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to staff, clients and patients.

Selection Criteria:

  • FSA: Current Food Processing Certificate Level 1 (Desired or working towards or willing to attain).
  • ESA: Experience as housekeeper/ cleaner or infectious cleaning specialist
  • All current vaccinations per the health care industry requirements.
  • Prior experience in Healthcare Food or Environmental Services advantageous
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to work without supervision as well as a part of a team.
  • Flexible to work a variety of shifts – weekday and weekend shifts
  • Time management skills as this a busy and key role within the Hospital.
  • Great communication and customer service skills.
  • Available for on call shifts.
