Our New Graduate Nurses participate in a 52-week program which enables you to make the transition from a newly RegisteredNurse to a safe and competent practitioner in a supported environment.  We offer a 24 month contract, your second year used to consolidate your previous years learning whilst being offered ongoing support and study sessions. 
 
Norwest Private Hospital is a ‘Healthscope Hospital’, with 277 beds, 13 Operating Theatres, Emergency Department, 19 bedded Intensive care Unit, Coronary Care Unit, Women’s Health Unit, Day Surgery Unit and acute Medical and Surgical wards.
 
We offer:

  • A Private Emergency department (Open 24/7)
  • 19 bed Intensive Care Unit: Surgical, Cardiothoracic & Medical
  • Cardiology and Cardiac Services, Cardiac Catheter Lab
  • Paediatrics and Children’s Health Clinic
  • General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedics
  • Maxillofacial & Dental Surgery, Neurosurgery, ENT
  • Obstetrics and Women’s Health
  • Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery
  • Urology and Vascular Surgery
  • Weight control Surgery and support for Obesity management
     
Selection criteria:
  • Eligible for registration as a nurse with the Nurses and Midwives Registration board (AHPRA) including English language requirements
  • Australian Citizenship (eligible to work in Australia, full time hours, or a Visa which permits employment in Australia or citizens residing in Australia who hold a current Special Category permit and have Permanent Resident status)
  • Ability to work a full-time 7-day rotating roster
  • Graduated within 6 months of application

  • Letter of application
  • Curriculum Vitae including 2 referees. One referee must be a clinical teacher, preceptor, or other senior nurse that you have reported to at a clinical placement within the last 12 months.  The other must be a previous or current manager in a place of employment. This does not have to have been employment in the nursing field
  • Signed academic transcriptions (if available) with result legend
  • Signed copies of two recent clinical assessments.
