Health Information Manager / Clinical Coder

An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Coder / Health Information Manager to join our team on a part-time or full-time basis.

About us
Holmesglen Private Hospital is a world class facility located in the South Eastern region of Melbourne. Close to public transport and with affordable onsite parking.

Holmesglen Private is a state of the art 147 bed hospital, comprising of a 24/7 Emergency Department, 6 bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 9 bed specialised Coronary Care Unit (CCU), 12 bay Day Infusion Unit and 5 specialised inpatient units. – including Oncology, Urology, ENT, Orthopaedics, Plastic Surgery, Interventional Cardiology and Rehabilitation Services

As a Health Information Manager / Clinical coder your responsibilities will include:

·         Timely and accurate clinical coding                  

·         Participate in quality management activities and audits as necessary

·         Assist with the timely extraction and submission of mandatory data reporting

Essential Criteria:

·         Bachelor of Health Information Management or Master of Health Information Management, or HIMAA Diploma of Clinical Coding (or equivalent)

·         Sound knowledge of clinical coding and clinical coding audit processes

·         Strong organisational skills in planning, prioritising and managing workloads

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 

Desirable Criteria:

·         Minimum 2 years’ clinical coding experience

·         Experience with Private Sector Funding Models and Reporting Models

·         Experience in extraction and submission of data to external parties
