An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated Health Information Services Officer to join our Health Information Service team.

As a Health Information Services Officer your responsibilities will include:
  • Medical record retrieval
  • Provision of health information to internal and external clients
  • Filing and preparation of medical records and loose sheets
  • Filing of medical records
  • Day to day functionality of the Health Information Service Department
  • Participating in performance improvement activities
  • Culling of medical records

Prince of Wales Private Hospital is one of Sydney's leading private hospitals. Located in the heart of Randwick, we share a campus with Sydney Children's Hospital, Prince of Wales (Public), and the Royal Hospital for Women. This provides a unique opportunity for collaborative treatment programs and advanced medical and surgical care not usually available in smaller private facilities.

Our hospital has 168 inpatient beds, 11 Operating Theatres; including a Robotic suite, and 20 day surgery spaces and we specialise in cardiothoracic surgery, intensive care, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, colorectal, urology, endovascular surgery, maternity, paediatrics, general surgery, ENT, plastics and oncology.

Essential Criteria:
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a team member in a small team environment
  • Ability to plan and work within deadlines
  • Previous experience within a Medical Records environment desirable
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and General Computer literacy
  • Compliance with NSW Health Policy PD2018_009 Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases  under Category A Staff

Desirable Criteria:
  • Experience with the WebPAS patient information system
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products eg. Excel

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant experience against the current Healthscope - NSW - Health Professionals and Support Services Agreement - 2017-2021
