About the role:
You will coordinate the effective management of hospital services and exceptional best practice nursing care to ensure excellent clinical outcomes and an industry leading patient experience. As a hospital leader, you will contribute to the hospital’s performance across: Patient safety and quality, people & safety, financial and operations. The hospital coordinator function is 24/7 and as the day coordinator you will effectively manage the flow of patients from admission to discharge, and staffing, as the senior nurse in charge of weekdays, before handing over to the after-hours team.

Key responsbilities:
- Supervise safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards across all wards
- Support and liaise with the respective Nurse Unit Manager(s) of wards and departments to ensure all areas are staffed appropriately
- Manage patient flow, coordinate and plan operational processes, working within the budget direction of the hospital
- Demonstrate and lead staff in delivery operational efficiencies
- Coordinate patient admissions
- Support the hospitals commitment to quality improvement and achievement of National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards
Essential Criteria:
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA Registration
- Recent management experience at Senior Nurse / NUM or Hospital Coordinator level
- Demonstrated experience with the coordination and allocation of staff
- Ability to manage multi tasks and co-ordinate resources appropriately
- High degree of computer literacy including MS Office
- People leadership skills including mentorship and coaching of team members
- Completion or working towards post graduate qualification in management advantageous
- Available to work a rotational roster - early, late & night shifts 7 days a week

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope - Tasmania Nurse -Enterprise Agreement 2025, a salary of $69.84 per hour.
