About the role

Prince of Wales Private Hospital has a long-standing reputation for delivering a continually high standard of care. We are looking for an experienced Hospitality Manager (Executive Chef) to lead our kitchen team and manage after the day-to-day operations of our Food Services Department. Reporting to the General Manager, this role plays a particularly important role in our patients’ overall hospital experience.

Our Hospitality Manager collaborates closely with our chefs, diet aides and food services attendants to ensure that nutritious, restaurant/hotel quality food is prepared, presented and served to all our patients. You will lead the team to provide high end, restaurant/hotel quality food daily. In addition, you will be dedicated to focussing on kitchen management, efficiency, food safety and patient engagement and feedback.

About You

  • Australian work rights
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef within a complex, dynamic hospitality environment
  • Relevant Culinary qualifications
  • Food Safety Supervisor qualification
  • Previous experience leading a diverse, motivated and committed team with ability to coach and mentor
  • Demonstrable ability to manage significant volumes of stock control, food and labour costs
  • Commitment to work Monday to Friday during lunch and dinner service
  • Highly customer service focused with an ability to be flexible to changing demands
  • An ability to genuinely demonstrate you’re focused on patient (consumer) care and staff safety
  • You’re reliable, conscientious and have high standards
  • You will be motivated to be proud of making a positive difference to someone's hospital stay
