About Northern Beaches Hospital

Operated by Healthscope, Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) is located in Frenchs Forest in Northern Sydney just 13kms north of the CBD. The hospital is a contemporary 488 bed facility comprising of 60% public and 40% private beds. We provide a wide range of health services to the local community including Surgery, a 50 bed Emergency Department, Intensive Care, Birthing, Paediatrics, Cardiac, Mental Health, Dialysis, Cancer Centre and Outpatients.
NBH has thirteen operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheter theatre, two Catheter Laboratories and four endoscopy procedure rooms, all supported by a critical care unit which includes two intensive care wards.

About the Role

Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 – Infection control will lead the direction on the Infection Prevention and Control Program to ensure a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors at NBH. This role will lead the promotion of a safety-driven workplace culture and supporting compliance with infection control standards and accreditation requirements

Working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, the successful candidate will coordinate the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of infection control policies, procedures, and standards.

This role also includes providing expert leadership and guidance on infection control practices, driving strategic initiatives, supporting operational processes, and facilitating continuous improvement. The position works in partnership with the Healthcare Infection Control Management Resources (HICMR) consultant to ensure NBH meets the highest standards in infection prevention and control.

You will report to the Accreditation Manager and be supported by senior medical, nursing, and allied health teams.

Essential Criteria

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
  • Attended Health Practitioner Immuniser course (or willing to do the course in the secondment)
  • Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) with a postgraduate qualification in infection control, or a related field (or working towards)

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2020 - 2024, a salary ranging from $55.66-57.48/hour.
